Description:

In June 2000, Ms. Chen Jian went to Beijing to appeal to the government to stop the persecution of Falun Gong. As a result, she was arrested, detained and tortured. On July 1, 2002, the directors of her work unit told her that she would be sent to a brainwashing class, and even labor camp if she did not renounce Falun Gong. Because Ms. Chen refused to give up her belief, on August 12, 2002, the police of Donghu Street Police Station kidnapped her and escorted her to a brainwashing class. Her five-year old daughter and aged parents were left at home without any care. Nobody knows Ms. Chen’s current situation.
