Ms. Liu’s Seven-Month-Old Fetus Aborted by Police in Hebei Province
Print  E-mail

Ms. Liu Sujun, female, 37 years old, is a resident of Luannan County, Hebei Province.

Since China’s government banned practicing Falun Gong, Ms. Liu has clarified the truth about Falun Gong to many people. As a result, she has been arrested and beaten many times.

Once, she went to Beijing to appeal to the government to stop the persecution of Falun Gong. Because she unfurled a banner saying “Falun Dafa Is Good” in Tiananmen Square, the policemen from the Tiananmen Square Police Station arrested her and detained her for five months. At the time she was two months pregnant. During her detention, she was continuously locked with fetters. Her hands were handcuffed to her feet, so that she was unable to stand up. The police tortured her day after day and finally, when her fetus was seven months old and viable, they forced her to have an abortion.

After being sent home for half a month, she was captured again and sent to a brainwashing center. There she went on a hunger strike to protest the detention. Because it was less than one month after the forced abortion, her mother came to the center to look after her. Her mother appealed to the county government for her daughter’s release and it was granted five days later.
