Mr. Xie Guichen, male, is a resident of Shenlin Village Group 3, Shulan City, Jilin Province.

On July 4, 2003, police from the Baiqi Township Police Station and the Shulan City Police Station arrested Mr. Xie because he was making materials exposing the persecution of Falun Gong. The police tortured and beat him, and caused one of his legs to become disabled. Later, he was sentenced to eight years in prison. He is being detained at the Shulan City Detention Center. There, under the orders of Director Zhao, Mr. Xie was force-fed a highly concentrated saline solution. Later, Mr. Xie was also force-fed human urine, as well as poisonous drugs, which Zhao demanded that a doctor arrange. When the drugs took effect, the pain and itching on Mr. Xie's chest became so unbearable that he scratched himself until his chest was raw and bleeding. Guards also knocked out two of his front teeth during the force-feeding.
