Chen Jingru, 40 years old, worked at the Yitong County Food Storage Company. She was imprisoned in the Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp for appealing to the government to stop the persecution of Falun Gong.
In mid-August of 2000, the head of the labor camp, Yue, along with others took Ms.
Chen to a private room where guards attempted to force her to confess that she was guilty of a crime because she practiced Falun Gong. Yue and team leader Li Hong shocked Ms. Chen’s face, neck, and head with electric batons, burning most of her hair. They shocked her for more than one hour. Her face and neck became red and swollen, developing several huge blisters. Then, Yue called in four to five guards who surrounded Ms. Chen and began slapping her face. He then violently beat her chest, grabbed her by her clothes, and threw her against a wall.
From September to October 2000, they forced her to squat for 15 to 16 hours per day.
After squatting, she experienced unbearable pain and had difficulty walking.
On November 17, 2000, at around 9 a.m. guard Wang Lihua and team leader Xi Guirong shocked Ms. Chen for more than two hours with high-voltage electric batons. The two guards each held an electric baton and shocked her head, face, neck, and back. They handcuffed her arms behind her back and continued to torture her for another two hours non-stop. Ms. Chen's whole body twitched and convulsed violently. Her face became red, swollen, deformed, and full of blisters. Her entire neck looked like a cauliflower with large blisters on the back of her neck. Her back turned black from the shocks. Most of her hair was burned, her scalp was covered with bloody blisters, and her body smelled of burning flesh.
Later, Ms. Chen has been detained in the Yitong County Detention Center for making materials clarifying the truth about the persecution of Falun Gong. type=Case, Torture; type=Case, Women; type=Labor Camp,Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp; location=Jilin, Changchun |
