Ms. Li Dan, female, is a middle school student in Nanzai Village, Pinggu District, Beijing. At school, Ms. Li told her classmates that Falun Gong is good and can help people become healthier and stronger. As a result, Ms. Li was sent to the juvenile law school in Pinggu district where she was subjected to brainwashing for half a month. During the period of her detention, the authorities extorted 500 RMB Yuan from her family. The policemen also threatened her younger sister so that she would lead them to Mr. Huang Wenshu, the person that had taught Ms. Li the practice of Falun Gong, so that they could arrest him too.  As a result, Mr. Huang was arrested and illegally sentenced to two years of forced labor. The policemen searched the homes of Ms. Li and Mr. Huang and confiscated their tape recorders, cassettes, books and all the materials they found that were related to Falun Gong. The policemen also seized Ms. Li’s telephone book with her relatives’ contact information and subsequently harassed them and searched their homes as well.
