Middle school students are being expelled from school or sent to brainwashing centers because they or their parents practice Falun Gong.

Ms. Huang Jing was a second-year junior high school student at Yucai Middle School, Chengdu City, Sichuan Province. She was reported by a classmate for publicly supporting and talking about Falun Gong to students in the school. The school’s Political Section tried to force Huang Jing to give up Falun Gong. In the spring semester of 2004, Jing once again talked to her schoolmates about Falun Gong and the persecution. The school authorities forced her to discontinue her studies. Zhang Conghui is an 18-year-old student from Chicheng County, Hebei Province. She used to attend the First Middle School of Xuanhua District, Zhangjiakou City. She openly supported and talked about Falun Gong at school, and handed a brief note saying, “Falun Dafa is good” to another student, but that student reported her to the school authorities. In February 2004, Zhang Conghui was “urged to drop out” by school officials and deprived of her right to receive an education.

Young Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Chen Si is from Chongqing City, Sichuan Province. She lived in the Shuangbei Dongfeng Chemical Factory in Shapingba District of Chongqing, and both of her parents are Falun Gong practitioners. Her mother was illegally sentenced to a forced labor camp because she went to Beijing to appeal for an end to the persecution of Falun Gong.

During the summer vacation of 2001, when Chen Si was only 13 years old, she was arrested while distributing pro Falun Gong materials to expose the persecution. The people who arrested her beat her up despite her young age. Later, Chen Si was sent to the Shapingba District Geleshan Psychiatric Hospital where she was force-fed for two weeks.  When Chen Si’s school term began, the "610 office" officials refused to allow her to attend school.

Ms. Kang Jiaqi, daughter of Hengshui City Second Middle School teacher, Liu Hongluan of Hebei Province, used to go to the same school where her mother worked. Jiaqi's father, who is a Falun Gong practitioner, was detained at a brainwashing center, and her mother had to become homeless in order to avoid being harassed and persecuted by the police. Because of this situation, the school forced Jiaqi to withdraw from school, and deprived her of her right to receive an education.
