On the night of June 30, 2001, Li Changxin and another practitioner were in a park outside the East Gate of Shuancheng City hanging up speakers. Some people saw them and notified the police. Li Changxin was put into a police van. While the police were not looking, Li Changxin opened the door of the police van and jumped out. Li Dabin, a police officer from Shuangcheng City Police department began chasing him and fired three shots at Li Changxin. After Li Changxin was caught, police officers Wang Shengli and Li Dabin began beating him until his face and the front of his body were covered with blood. At the police station Li Changxin was handcuffed to a heater pipe and left standing there until 8:00 AM the next morning. Afterwards, the police again started beating Li Changxin and proceeded to interrogate him the whole day. As a result, Li's face was swollen beyond recognition. Presently Li Changxin is being held in the Shuancheng City Detention Center and is being subjected to further torture.
