Description:
Ye Heping was sentenced to three years in a labor camp for appealing for Falun Gong in Beijing during November 1999. She is currently being held in the Zhongba Labor Camp in Guizhou Province. Ye’s house has been ransacked many times. In addition, the Beijing Street police have detained Huang Huaying for 15 days because she brought Falun Gong literature to practitioners in the labor camps. A few days after Huang’s release, four people from the police station and the residents' committee broke into her house and announced that she would be sentenced to three years in a labor camp. They tried to take her away by force, but Huang jumped from a third floor window and ran off. After that, they took her daughter to the police station and didn't release her until dawn. They threatened to let the family see the "power of proletarian dictatorship." In order to avoid arrest, however, Ye Shaoxue and his daughter, Ye Jingsong, had no choice but to leave their home. The police station sent some people to watch their home and arrest anyone who came to visit. They also forced Ye's nephew and tenants to go and find Ye and his family. Had they refused, the tenants would not have been allowed to live there anymore and the house would have been closed down. The tenants were all threatened with three years in jail.
