Xinhua Labor Camp is located in Mianyang City, Sichuan Province. Falun Gong practitioners have been detained there for “transformation” since July 1999. The camp guards force Falun Gong practitioners to do hard manual labor under extremely bad working conditions. Falun Gong practitioners have been tortured both physically and mentally.
The Falun Gong practitioners were forced to make bricks under extremely hot temperatures and they were often burned by fire. They were forced to work more than ten hours a day without any drinking water or any break. They were only allowed to change their clothes every twenty to thirty days and were not allowed to shower. They lived in a very crowded room with more than 30 people sleeping in a small room of 7 meters by 3.5 meters (about 23 feet by 11 feet). Practitioners were not given enough water for drinking and washing, or enough toilets. They were forced to work for twelve months straight without any days off, weekends or holidays.
Falun Gong practitioners also suffered inhumane torture. They were often forced to do extensive physical exercises, such as running in circles, push-ups, and squats all day long, from 4 to 5 a.m. until 1 or 2 the next morning .until they passed out, or renounced Falun Gong. They were shocked with electrical batons, confined in small cells and tied with ropes. They were forced to watch anti-Falun Gong movies and speeches all day long. If they refused to renounce Falun Gong by the end of their term, their imprisonment was prolonged; some of their terms were extended for another year.

Once Team Leader Dong of the 6 th Team and camp guard Tang Xufeng covered Mr. Xiang’s whole body with black ashes except for his eyes. Then he was pushed into the drying passageway (for drying the bricks) to suffer in the extremely high temperatures.
