Ms. Zhou Liangzhu, female, 60, was an engineer who lived at the 607 Geological Team Dormitory at Jiugongli, Banan District, Chongqing City. She was twice detained at the Maojiashan Female Labor Camp in Chongqing City because she was talking with the local people about the persecution. During her detention, she was brutally tortured and forced to attend the anti-Falun Gong brainwashing session against her will. One day, the head of the security section from her work unit reported her while she was clarifying the truth to people. On October 2, 2002, the people from the Banan District "610 Office," and the Nanquan Police Station, illegally arrested Ms. Zhou because the head of the security section from her work reported she was talking about the persecution of Falun Gong with the local people again. A police officer beat her and hit her over the head. Ms. Zhou passed out on the spot.  

Afterwards, the officials from the Nanquan Police Station sent Ms. Zhou to the Maojiashan Female Labor Camp. They had planned to detain her there for three years, but a physical exam at the labor camp discovered that Ms. Zhou could barely stand up. Afraid that she might die, the labor camp authorities called the local "610 Office," her work unit, and her family to take her home on December 12, 2002. Because the injuries she sustained from the brutal torture at the labor camp and at the brainwashing class were so severe, Ms. Zhou was never able to recover, and passed away at 11:20 p.m. on October 17, 2003.
