Since the end of 1999, the Sanshui Labor Camp in Guangdong Province has detained and tortured many Falun Gong practitioners because they refuse to renounce Falun Gong. Falun Gong practitioners who were subjected to torture in confinement include: Mr. Zeng Shugang, Mr. Wang Yutian, Mr. Deng Jiu, Mr. Wang Shubin, Mr. Liu Yufeng, Mr. Jia Guodong, Mr. Lin Xiangrui, Mr. Xie Chunfeng, Mr. Xie Chunze, Mr. Hong Haoyuan, Mr. You Xianbang, Mr. Xing Peisong, Mr. Xu Xieqia, Mr. Li Jielong, Mr. Xu Wenzhong, Mr. Liang Xi’an, Mr. Zeng Liuming, Mr. Xie Wenjie, Mr. Liu Fangfei, Mr. Zhou Jianqiang, Mr. Chen Jingping, Mr. Liu Lei, Mr. Feng Dijian, Mr. Chen Jinke, Mr. Sun Jiefeng, and Mr. Wei Xiaojing. These practitioners were separately locked in a small cell, beaten, and shocked with electric batons. Some practitioners were shocked by as many as ten electric batons simultaneously.

Since December 4, 2002, the labor camp has secretly locked more than twenty practitioners in small cells. The practitioners included: Mr. Chen Jinke, Mr. Chen Binggui, Mr. Chen Jingping, Mr. Wang Bin, Mr. Liu Fangfei, Mr. Feng Dijian, Mr. Pan Zhen, Mr. Zeng Guangxing, Mr. Liu Chongdan, Mr. Xu Mingxiong, Mr. Wu Haibo, Mr. Li Yuandong, Mr. Wang Guifeng, Mr. Lin Fengchi, Mr. Liu Zhenxue, Mr. Liang Shoulin, Mr. Sun Jiefeng, Mr. Li Jielong, Mr. Xu Jianshun, Mr. Liu Qinming, Mr. Ding Wulai, Mr. Yang Jiedong, and Mr. Lin Qinrong. Guards have forced practitioners to squat on their heels for long period of time and not allowed them to sleep for many days and nights. Electric batons have been used on them, while they were simultaneously punched and kicked. Guards also used sharp toothpicks to pierce under their fingernails.

Practitioner Mr. Wang Bin was handcuffed and hung on a doorframe for more than ten hours, with his legs dangling in the air. The skin on his wrists tore open, exposing his bones, and the blood flowed freely. The excruciating, unimaginable pain made him lose consciousness. In spite of his agony, the guards frequently yanked his legs downwards and punched his ribs.

Practitioner Mr. Wang Guifeng was shocked with an electric baton until his whole body was a festering mass of blisters from the burns. His neck vertebrae went out of alignment and could no longer be straightened. His hands were handcuffed, and he was forcefully dragged first left and then right by his arms until his left arm became dislocated and the ligaments were severely torn and split. Later, because his life was in danger, he was admitted to a hospital in Foshan City and has been there ever since.

Practitioners Mr. Lin Fengchi and Mr. Chen Weiming were so severely injured by the assaults and electric baton shocks that they have had to remain under constant medical care.
