Sui Guangxi Dies from Torture
Print  E-mail

Mr. Sui Guangxi and his wife were both Falun Gong practitioners from Xiangyangling Village, Niuxibu Township, Laixi City, Shandong Province. At midnight on September 17, 2002, villager Ding Yuxiang, along with eleven policemen and staff members from the local police station and village government climbed over the wall of Sui Guangxi's yard and forcibly dragged him and his wife into a police van. The couple was held at the Sanjiaocun Elementary School for four days and then transferred to the Xinzhuang "610 Office" [1] in Laixi City, where they were forced to listen to broadcasts slandering Falun Gong every day. Because Sui Guangxi refused to listen to the slander, the police subjected him to various forms of torture. They used twisted, soiled sheets to beat him about the head, starved him, and refused to allow him to use the restroom. About 20 days later, he found a chance to escape.

Sui Guangxi’s torture left him so incapacitated that he could not take care of himself after he escaped. His family had to send him to the Pingdu First People’s hospital. On July 4, 2003, Mr. Sui died in the hospital from injuries resulting from the torture he endured. The medical expenses mounted to over 10,000 Yuan, causing a great financial burden to the family.
