Mr. Zhang Jiancheng, male, from Patou Village, Houshi Town, Yanshi City, Henan Province, is a Falun Gong practitioner. In April 2000, the Communist Party Secretaries of Houshi Town, Zhao Zhende, Li Jianguo, Zhi Youbin and other local staff ransacked his home, and confiscated his television set, VCD player, recorder, tractor, motorcycle, refrigerator, beeper, his ID, business license, cash, and lots of other things worth more than 100,000 Yuan. They also moved into his house, and sent him to a labor camp. After Mr. Zhang was released from the labor camp, in September 2002, they detained him for one more week. During the night of December 30, 2002, the local police broke into Mr. Zhang’s home and arrested him again. When Zhang’s 14-year-old daughter Xiaojuan tried to stop them, two policemen beat her, and dragged her on the ground. Then they detained her for 24 hours. In March 2003, they sent Mr. Zhang to an anti-Falun Gong brainwashing class where they tortured him for more than 40 days. The local police still occupy his house.
