Description:

Since October 1999, Ms. Shi Shengying has been detained four times because she appealed to the government to stop the persecution of Falun Gong. Her terms were extended twice because she refused to give up Falun Gong. While detained, she was tortured in many ways, such as through long period of time standing, electric batons shocks, being locked on an iron bed, being locked in confinement, etc. As a result, her whole body became covered with scabies and running pus; she acquired heart disease and often vomited. On September 28, 2002, she was released because she was on verge of death.

On August 25, 2003, Ms. Shi was again arrested and detained at the Zhangshi Labor Camp for brainwashing.

Since Ms. Shi was arbitrarily detained and tortured to verge of death, we are very concerned about Ms. Shi’s life and hereby request an urgent action by the United Nations to safeguard the life of Ms. Shi.
