1.1 Zhang Jialin Forced to Leave Home Because He Practices Falun Gong

A Brief Report of the Incident:
In October of 1999, Zhang Jialin went to Beijing to appeal to the government to stop persecuting Falun Gong. However, the police arrested him and sent him to the Daxing County Detention Center in Beijing. Eight days later, Mr. Zhang was escorted back to his hometown, and detained at the Lu’an City Detention Center in Lu’an City, Anhui Province for more than seven months. During his detention, he was interrogated, beaten, cursed and deprived of sleep because he refused to give up Falun Gong. After Mr. Zhang was released, the police from the Lu’an City Police Station continued to threaten him if he continues practices Falun Gong, and broke into his home in the middle of the night. He had to leave his home to avoid more persecution. Meanwhile, Mr. Zhang’s wife Peng Yanfang, also a Falun Gong practitioner, is detained at the Anhui Women Labor Camp.

1.2 The Tribulations of Disabled Bo Minghua and Her Family

A Brief Report of the Incident:
Bo Minghua is a Falun Gong practitioner, her eyes are congenitally blind and she cannot take care of herself. On August 21st, 2000, the police interrogated her at the Huainan City Panji District Police Station for three days and nights, and not allowing her to sleep. Then they sent her to the Hefei City Women Labor Camp. The labor camp did not accept her because of her blindness.
Around midnight on August 21st, 2001, Wang Huaijing and Xu Hong again ransacked Ms. Bo’s home, and sent her husband to a brainwashing class in Huainan City. Ms. Bo and her fifth daughter were separately detained at the Huainan City Panji District Police Station. On the third day after the arrest, Ms. Bo was sent to a brainwashing class because Ms. Bo refused to give up Falun Gong. Since the brainwashing class used mental torture, and did not allow Ms. Bo to sleep if she didn’t give up Falun Gong. Ms. Bo was forced to write a so-called “transformation statement”. The second day after her release she immediately wrote a solemn declaration that the “transformation statement” was invalid. This both exposed and shocked the police. They tried to arrest her again, so she had to leave home. All alone with nowhere to go, Ms. Bo, a blind elderly lady, is now on the streets.

1.3 Wang Caiyun Forced to Leave Home after Being Psychiatrically Abused

A Brief Report of the Incident:
In early 2001, because Wang Caiyun practices Falun Gong, she was sent to the Hefei No 4 People’s Hospital by police at her workplace. Ms. Wang was injected with drugs and tortured with electrical batons. After 30 days in the mental hospital, she was released. To avoid further persecution, she left her home.
