Ms. Li Huixin, Ms. Li Huijie, and Ms. Li Huiqi are sisters and Falun Gong practitioners. Ms. Li Huijie is the eldest sister, Ms. Li Huixin is the middle sister, and Ms. Li Huiqi is  the younger sister.

Because of the persecution of Falun Gong, Ms. Li Huixin (from Shijiazhuang City, a worker for the passenger department of the Shijiazhuang Branch of the Railroad Bureau) was forced to stay away from her home for over two years, since 2001, to avoid further persecution. Personnel from the "610 Office" and the Shijiazhuang railroad police had been pursuing her. On May 8, 2003, policemen Huang He, Wang Liyan and others from the Shijiazhuang Railroad Police Bureau kidnapped her on the street. They covered Ms. Li Huixin's head with a hood of black plastic. She was secretly detained in the Eastern Guesthouse, located near Hebei Province's Public Security Department. She was tortured and hung up for 24 hours; her hands were disabled, and there were wounds all over her body. Since the middle of May 2003, she has been detained without cause at the Hebei Provincial Brainwashing Center, and is suffering from cruel psycological torture.

On May 8, 2003, police kidnapped Ms. Li Huijie.  Li Huijie was imprisoned in the Shijiazhuang Railroad Police Bureau's hotel and was unlawfully interrogated. She was not released until the next afternoon.

Ms. Li Huiqi, born in 1967, worked at the Shijiazhuang Paint Factory in Hebei Province.

In February 2000, around the Chinese New Year, Li Huiqi was detained for appealing for Falun Gong at Tiananmen Square. On December 2, 2001, police from the Weiming Street Police Station in Shijiazhuang City seized her. On February 2, 2002, after being detained at Shijiazhuang First Detention Center for two months, she was sent to the Second Squad, Fourth Brigade of the Shijiazhuang Forced Labor Camp for a one-year term. To force Ms. Li to give up her faith in Falun Gong, the guards in the labor camp tortured her severely. Ms. Li was in critical condition a number of times as a result of this severe torture. Her family requested to see her repeatedly, but their requests were all rejected. On April 8, 2002, Ms. Li’s condition deteriorated so much that the labor camp had to send her to the People’s Hospital of Hebei Province for emergency care. Only at this point was her family allowed to see her. Ms. Li was later transferred to the Third Hospital of Hebei Province for treatment, but her injuries were so severe that the doctors could not heal her paralysis. She also suffered from lung and urinary system injuries, all resulting from the severe torture. Her whole body twitched constantly, and she often lost consciousness. The doctors had to use a respirator to maintain her breathing.

On December 3, 2002, Zhao Jinlong, the director of Shijiazhuang Labor Camp, and policeman Zhou Yilin demanded that the hospital halt its intensive care for Ms. Li. The excuse was that Ms. Li’s one-year forced-labor sentence was over! She was thus forcibly moved out of hospital.
