1.     Primary School Teacher Sent to Mental Hospital and Tortured to Death

Victim:

Huang Xinjin, female, 40 years old, a teacher of Xiyang Primary School, Wuwei Town, Gansu Province

Description:

Under pressure by Wuwei Town’s Public Security, the Education Office of Wuwei Town fired Ms. Huang Xinjin from her teaching position because she is not willing to give up the practice of Falun Gong. Afterward, the Public Security officials sent her to Wuwei Town’s mental hospital, Gansu Province. While in the mental hospital, Ms. Huang had been severely psychiatric tortured. Her death was reported approximately ten days after her release from the mental hospital. She was cremated without an autopsy.

2.     Fan Lihong Died from Psychiatric Torture

Victim:

Fan Lihong, female, 29, a resident of Dining City, Qinghai Province

Description:

On May 6, 2001, after their ongoing, unsuccessful attempts to coerce Ms. Fan Lihong into renouncing Falun Gong, the Qinghai Province Female Forced Labor Camp imprisoned Ms. Fan in a mental hospital. At the mental hospital, the doctors,  the policemen and guards force-fed harmful drugs to Ms. Fan. Since then, she was repeatedly forced into the mental hospital to torture. Each time she was severely abused, both physically and mentally. After Ms. Fan was released from the mental hospital for the last time, the drugs she was forced to take made her lose her appetite, and she often fell into a lethargic, trance-like state. In December 2001, Ms. Fan was found dead in the Qinghai People's Park.

3.     Feng Peizhi Died from Psychiatric Torture

Description:

In May 2001, Ms. Feng Peizhi was arrested and sent to the Women’s Prison of Shanxi Province because she refused to give up the practice of Falun Gong. In the prison, Ms. Feng went on a hunger strike to protest the brutal treatment she received. In June, she was sent to the Public Security Hospital of Shanxi Province. In there, she went through all kind of psychiatric torture. She was tortured to death in the hospital.

4. Chen Biyu Injected with Drugs at a Mental Hospital in Fuzhou City

Victim:

Chen Biyu, female, 51, an employee of Fuzhou Industry and Business Bank, Fuzhou City, Fujian Province

Description:

On September 26, 2001, Ms. Chen Biyu was arrested and taken from her home by local police of Fuzhou City for her refusal to give up her practice of Falun Gong. While in detention, she was subjected to various types of torture. Although Ms. Chen was rational and cognizant, she was later sent to Fuzhou City Mental Hospital where she was injected with harmful drugs designed for mental patients. At the end of October 2001, Ms. Chen passed away.
