Ms. Xu Guiqin Killed By Forced Drug Injections

Ms. Xu Guiqin, female, 38, lived in Tai’an City, Shandong Province. She was an employee at the Dahe Cotton Mill. In December 2001, she distributed Falun Gong materials as she sold fruit in the market. The police arrested her in Tai’an City and sent her to the No. 1 Female Labor Camp in Jinan City, Shandong Province where she was detained for one year. In the labor camp, various torture methods were applied to Ms. Xu including; forced standing for extensive time periods, physical beatings, sleep deprivation , forced to bend her upper body at a 90 degree angle with her head to pressed to her knees for a prolonged time period as well as forced labor for prolonged time periods. At one point during her detention, section Chief Wang beat Ms. Xu until she lost consciousness.

Two days before her release, Chief Wang attempted to force Ms. Xu to write a guarantee statement to give up practicing Falun Gong, she refused. Wang then beat Ms. Xu for several hours until she was covered with bruises and her body was black and blue. After the beating, guards injected Ms. Xu with four vials of an unknown drug that gradually caused the degradation of Ms. Xu’s central nervous system, some effects of the drug were; dizziness, swelling of facial tissues, hardness of the tongue, numbness of body, and severe memory deterioration. Upon being sent home, Ms. Xu slowly experienced failure of her central nervous system, she passed away several days later on December 10, 2002.
