Ms. Huang Lisha Died from Torture and Forced-Feeding Harmful Drug
Print  E-mail

After July 20, 1999, Ms. Huang Lisha, 35, resident of Emeishan City, Sichuan Province, went to Beijing twice to appeal for Falun Gong. As a result, her job was suspended, and she was twice detained by the Emeishan City Police Department. In June 2000, she was sent to the Nanmusi Labor Camp in Zizhong City, Sichuan Province, and one month later she was transferred to the Emeishan City Detention Center. In August 2001, she was sent back to her work unit. When she returned, she was very weak and her face was pale. There were rashes and open sores all over her body. There were also marks on her face from beatings. After she returned, her work unit put her under surveillance 24 hours a day and tried to force her to denounce Falun Gong.

On August 22, 2002, Ms. Huang was unjustly detained by the Supo Police Station in Qinyang district of Chengdu City, and was held in the Chengdu Detention Center. To protest this illegal detention, Ms. Huang started a hunger strike on August 23. Later, she was force-fed food, drugs, and water. A reaction to the drugs caused her to vomit and pass blood. However, the detention center refused to release her. In late October 2002, Ms. Huang died in the Qingyang District Hospital of Chengdu City.
