Ms. Dong Cuifang, female, 29, resident of Zhang Village, Xing'an Town, Gaocheng City, Hebei Province.
In 2002, Ms. Dong was arrested and detained at Beijing Shunyi Detention Center because she was distributing materials that clarified the truth about Falun Dafa. On March 11, 2003, Ms. Dong was transferred from the Shunyi Detention Center to the Daxing Women's Prison in Beijing.
On March 17, 2003, after Ms. Dong firmly replied, "I will never give up Falun Gong," three policewomen from the Beijing's Daxing Women's Prison pushed her into a room designated for torture and tortured her severely.
The Police Department of Gaocheng City denied using violence to persecute Ms. Dong, alleging that her death was the result of a mental breakdown. They further claimed that after recognizing her illness, the labor camp sent her to the hospital, but she died 10 minutes after her arrival.
Ms. Dong’s parents appealed to the Medical Identification Center in Beijing to do an autopsy. An examination of her body revealed that her legs were severely swollen, the skin below her knees was covered with festering, bloody sores, and the muscle was torn away from her right shoulder bone.
On April 14, the lab results revealed that Ms. Dong Cuifang was indeed murdered at Daxing Labor Camp. type=Case, Death; type=Case, Women; type=Prison, Daxing Women's Prison; location=Beijing |
