Ms. Liu Yuqing, female, 40, was a resident at 7 Zu, 10 Wei, Guchengzi Street, Wanghua District, Fushun City, Liaoning Province. Because Ms. Liu went to Beijing to appeal to the government to stop the persecution of Falun Gong on October 23, 1999, and again on December 31, 2000, she was arrested, detained, and tortured. After she was released, on February 15, 2001, three police officers from the Putun Police Station in the Wanghua District forcibly dragged her down from the third floor of her work unit and took her to the police station. On the second day they sent her to the Fushun City Detention Center, and half a month later she was transferred to the Wujiabao Labor Camp in Fushun City. Upon arrival at the labor camp, they tortured, beat, and interrogated her, deprived her of sleep, and physically and mentally tortured her in many ways. After about one month of continued torture, her internal organs showed signs of serious damage; she was very weak; she had a high fever and blood in her urine; and her weight declined sharply. On April 11, 2001, her family members took her home. Even though she was close to death, the local police and authorities continued to harass her. On April 13, 2002, she passed away due to permanent damage to her internal organs.
