Ms. Xue Xia, female, 33, was a resident of Jiejiatun Village, Xingtai City, Hebei Province. On January 1, 2000, because she went to Beijing to appeal to the government to stop the persecution of Falun Gong, the police sentenced her to three years of forced labor at Shijiazhuang Labor Camp. There she was beaten and force-fed unknown drugs, which caused an allergic reaction, including diarrhea and vomiting. She soon lost consciousness. Seeing she was on the verge of death, in May 2001, the camp authorities released Ms. Xue on medical bail. At Xingtai City People's Hospital, the doctors diagnosed her as having diminished brain capacity.

On September 27, 2002, after she recovered a little at home, the head and two clerks from the Meishi Street Committee led five female guards from Shijiazhuang Labor Camp to seize Ms. Xue and her mother, and transport them, without any legal procedure, to the labor camp to brainwash them.

On November 15, 2002, Ms. Xue had a relapse and again lost consciousness and had severe breathing difficulty. On January 4, 2003, when she was barely breathing, they sent her back to Xingtai City for medical treatment. Her life depended entirely on transfusions and oxygen therapy. She passed away on the afternoon of February 21, 2003.
