Description:
On July 19, 2001, Mr. Hu Hexiang was arrested and detained by Qinglong County Police because they suspected that he might go to Beijing to appeal for his right to practice Falun Gong. In the detention center, instigated by the police, the prisoners monitored Mr. Hu around the clock and forbade him from practicing Falun Gong exercises. They brutally beat Mr. Hu and violently kicked him. As a result, he suffered from two broken ribs. This injury was so severe that he was near death. When the camp authorities noticed Mr. Hu's grave condition, they were afraid that Mr. Hu would die in the detention center. Therefore, in order to shirk the responsibility of Mr. Hu's death, they sent him home on December 12, 2001. Due to the severe injuries he received while in the detention center, Mr. Hu passed away on January 28, 2002.
