A brief report of the incident:

In 1999, Zhao Bin was sentenced to one year in a labor camp for appealing for Falun Gong in Beijing.  On July 24, 2001, Zhao was arrested by the police from the Donghai Police Station for playing a radio broadcast about Falun Gong.  He was detained in the Jixi City No. 1 Detention Center and refused to cooperate with the police's demands.  Shortly after August 20, 2001, news came out that Zhao Bin was tortured to death.
