A brief report of the incident:

On May 12, 2001, Gao Feng was arrested in Heilongjiang Province and then sent to the Wanjia Labor Camp in Harbin city, Heilongjiang province. 

On May 19, 2001, her family was informed that she died. Her family members were not allowed to see her remains even after she was cremated.
