Print  E-mail

Victim:

Fang Cuifang, female, 40, resident of Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province, China

Location of Death:

Jiamusi Labor Camp, Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province, China

Perpetrators:

Director and the guards of Jiamusi Labor Camp, Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province

A brief report of the incident:

Several months before December 2000, Ms. Fang Cuifang went to Beijing to appeal for the basic right to practice Falun Gong, which led to her arrest and the eventual detainment at the Jiamusi Labor Camp in Jiamusi City. In early December 2000, Fang Cuifang’s family received notice of her death.

Before Ms. Fang was detained, she was very healthy and a normal person. There was no statement other than a death notice, devoid of any explanation. The labor camp has attempted to completely deny any responsibility.
