Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Sun Shaomei Died in Labor Camp

Sun Shaomei, female, 43, employee of Supply and Marketing Cooperative, resident of Goushang Village, Linglong Town, Zhaoyuan County, Shandong Province, China

Location of Torture and Death:

1. Tuanhe Labor Camp, Daxing County, Beijing

2. Tuanhe State Farm Hospital, Beijing

A brief report of the incident:

 

Ms. Sun Shaomei was among the first group of Falun Gong practitioners in Zhaoyuan County that went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong since July 20, 1999. She had been to Beijing to appeal and was arrested, beaten, and fined many times.

 

Since February 14, 2000, the Zhaoyuan Police Station, Linglong Branch had detained her for nearly 8 months.

 

After her release, Ms. Sun went to Beijing again to appeal and was arrested. On November 28, 2000, she was transferred to Tuanhe Labor Camp in Daxing County of Beijing. On December 2, 2000, she was sent to Tuanhe State Farm hospital for emergency treatment. She passed away at 11:45 a.m. on December 12, 2000.
