Seventy-Two Year Old Ms. Kang Died after Nine Days at the Police Station

Ms. Kang, 72, lived in the Yuzhongxili residential subdivision of Beijing.

On May 20, 2008, when Ms. Kang went out to distribute Falun Gong truth clarifying flyers, the police from the Huayuanlu Police Station arrested her. The police then ransacked her home without any legal documents. The detention and persecution of Ms. Kang at the police station caused her to have high blood pressure and a Cerebral hemorrhage. She died on May 29, 2008, just 9 days after her arrest.
