On June 18, 2007, Ms. Fu Guiju from Zhangjiakou City died from being force-fed in the Shisanli Detention Center in Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province...
Ms. Fu Guiju was mistreated multiple times because she
firmly cultivated Falun Gong. At 11:00 p.m. on May 10, 2000, she and her husband
(also a practitioner) were both forcibly taken to the Xinhua Street Neighborhood
Administration office and interrogated overnight by Chairperson Liu Xiaoyan,
among others. They were taken to the Xinhua Street Police Department the next
morning, and then transferred to the custody of the Dajingmen Police Station.
On May 22, 2002, the Mingdenan Neighborhood Administration Chairman,
Meng Yanping, told Ms. Fu, who was detained in the Shuimugong Brainwashing
Center, "If you don't go anywhere [to appeal for justice for Falun Dafa], I
guarantee you will be fine." She and Tang Liping, a Neighborhood Administration
employee, told Ms. Fu's family, "If you watch Fu Guiji closely, the police will
not arrest her." However, on September 26, 2002, it was Meng Yanping and Tang
Liping who took Ms. Fu to a brainwashing center where they detained her until
October 1, 2002. The Chinese Communist Party Qiaoxi District Political and
Judiciary Committee had planned this brainwashing attempt.
At 9:00 p.m.
on October 13, 2002, the police from the Qiaoxi District ordered the Mingdenan
Neighborhood Administration to arrange for Ms. Fu Guiju's neighbors to closely
monitor her activities. On October 16, 2002, police officer Wu Jianguo and
others from the Qiaoxi District Department took Ms. Fu's child out of school and
to the police station. They searched the child's backpack for a house key, then
opened Ms. Fu's door in collaboration with Neighborhood Administrators Meng
Yanping and Tang Liping, and ransacked her home.
On the evening of May
12, 2007, the Qiaoxi District State Security agent Zhong Senlin and policemen
from the Xinhua Street Station and the Mingdenan Street Station arrested 12
elderly Falun Dafa practitioners, including Ms. Fu.
Ms. Fu went on a
hunger strike to protest the persecution. Only when she was close to death did
they finally release her.
On June 4, 2007, the police again took her
into custody. As she had just recently been released, she had not fully
recovered. She was detained in the Shisanli Detention Center.
Only ten
days later, on June 14, 2007, the Qiaoxi District Procuratorate issued an
"arrest" warrant for several practitioners who were already in custody,
including Ms. Fu. The plans were to give them a harsh sentence.
