A Brief Report of the Incident:

On July 22, 2000, Wang Youju was taken away from home by the Gongji local police station and was sent to Wafangdian Detention Center. She was forced to work for long hours every day and would not be allowed to sleep if she could not finish the assignment.

On July 31, 2000, she was very weak and could not walk without help when she was released. She began to shiver while she was signing the release form. She felt very uncomfortable in her heart and later she could not even stand. She was then taken to the office of the detention center. That same night, Wang died in the office of the detention center.
