...The beatings were so severe that they passed out many times. Their faces were swollen, bloodstained, and disfigured due to the unrelenting torture, both physically and mentally. These teachers received no salaries during their 50 days of detention...

Detained Shouguang Experimental Middle School teachers: Mr. Yang Yufeng (center), Ms. Yang Shifang and Ms. Sui Jingmei. The picture was taken a few days after they were tortured.

The identities of the three in the above photo have been confirmed as Shouguang Experimental Middle School teachers Mr. Yang Yufeng (center), Ms. Yang Shifang, and Ms. Sui Jingmei from the Shouguang Experimental Middle School in Shandong Province. Ms. Yang Shifang is Mr. Yang Yufeng’s wife.

Their swollen, bloodstained, and disfigured faces

During the summer of 2000, the three practitioners went to Beijing to appeal to stop the persecution of Falun Gong. At midnight on their way there, the authorities detained them and transported back to their school. They were detained behind bars in a small room, they all ate, slept, and excreted in the same room.

The following day, the former principal of the school, Zhang Chunhe, the driver, Wu Ruixian, and the security director, Zhang Peifeng, went to the labor market and hired four ruffians just out of prison to torture the three practitioners. The beatings were so severe that they passed out many times. Their faces were swollen, bloodstained, and disfigured due to the unrelenting torture, both physically and mentally. These teachers received no salaries during their 50 days of detention.

The former Education Bureau director, Zhang Wennan, refused to release them until they had been injured so badly that they could not move.

In the middle of August 2005, the police arrested Ms. Sui Jingmei and ransacked her home. Before they released her, they forced her to write a statement against her will to give up her belief in Falun Gong, and fined her 17,000 Yuan.

On the morning of July 26, 2006, when Ms. Sui was undergoing training at the Shouguang Shiji School, the 610 Office arrested her and took her to the Weifang City Brainwashing Center.

Around 8 a.m. on June 10, 2005, the Shouguang City 610 Office personnel came to seize Mr. Yang Yufeng. They took his computer and books with the complete cooperation of Principal Li Zhengping and other school management staff. Mr. Yang and his wife were detained at the city's detention center for one month.

In late 2005, Mr. Yang was sent to the Wangcun Forced Labor Camp in Zibo City for two years, while his wife, Ms. Yang Shifang, was sent to the Weifang Brainwashing Center. After one month of persecution in the brainwashing center she was released and fined 2,000 Yuan. After her release, Li Tongzhong, head of Shouguang City's 610 Office, constantly harassed Ms. Yang and ordered her to pay a fine of 10,000 Yuan.

Our source said that the authorities at the Wangcun Forced Labor Camp violently tortured Mr. Yang physically and abused him mentally, making him suffer to the extreme. As a result, Mr. Yang was forcibly brainwashed and “transformed.” Recently he has been forced to help the persecutors “transform” other detained practitioners.
