...Ms. Guo’s mother is about  60 years old. Although she traveled a long way to Jinan to visit her daughter and son-in-law, the prison denied her request for a visit. The elderly lady pleaded with the receptionist and said, "It is not easy for an old person such as myself to come here." The official  replied, "You deserve to be worn out!"...

Mr. Zhang Chuanzheng and his wife Ms. Guo Xiuhong are from Gouxi village located in the Fangzi district of Weifang City, Shandong Province in China. They both practice Falun Gong and have a teenage son named Zhang Xiaolong. Xiaolong has been separated from his parents since he was 7 years old, and has experienced much hardship in his young life. The couple has been detained many times because of the persecution of Falun Gong.

On July 14, 1999, in Weifang City, Mr. Zhang and Ms. Guo, appealed for an end to the persecution. The Gouxi Town CCP Secretary General of Politics and Law Committee, Song Changchun, detained them for about a week.

In October of 2000, Mr. Zhang went to Beijing to appeal. He was escorted back and detained at the Fangzi Detention Center for two weeks. Meanwhile, Ms. Guo and some other practitioners were detained for almost a month.

The local CCP officials’ constantly harassed and threatened them, so in the late fall of 2001, the couple was forced to leave their home.

On August 4, 2002, the Fangzi Public Security Bureau arrested Mr. Zhang when he was visiting his mother-in-law's home. He was released at the end of August.

At the end of October 2002, before the 16th National Congress, the Chinese Communist Party authorities did a massive search for Falun Gong practitioners. Mr. Zhang and Ms. Guo were both arrested and detained at the Kuiwen Detention Center, where they suffered brutal persecution. When their family members tried to visit them, visiting rights were denied.

In December 2002, Mr. Zhang was taken to the Changle Forced Labor Camp, while Ms. Guo was taken to the Wangcun Forced Labor Camp. They were again deprived of family visits. Mr. Zhang was sentenced to three years of forced labor.

Two years later in 2004, under the direction of the Shandong Province 610 Office, the court changed the previous verdict and sentenced Mr. Zhang and Ms. Guo ten years in prison. On August 5, 2004, Mr. Zhang and Ms. Guo were taken to Jinan Prison where the persecution continued.

Mr. Zhang’s father passed away on March 21, 2006. The 14-year-old Xiaolong now lives with his grandmother. Given his unhappy life, young Xiaolong has become very depressed.

Ms. Guo’s mother is about 60 years old. Although she traveled a long way to Jinan to visit her daughter and son-in-law, the prison denied her request for a visit. The elderly lady pleaded with the receptionist and said, "It is not easy for an old person such as myself to come here." The official replied, "You deserve to be worn out!"
