Mr. Wu Dianhui, Rong's Father (died in Feb2006)

Wu Rong, a 6-year-old boy, is from Changzhou City, Jiangsu Province. He lives with his mother Ms. Zhang Wuying, who is a Falun Dafa practitioner. His father Mr. Wu Dianhui, born in September 1972, was also a Falun Dafa practitioner. The Chinese communist government persecuted Mr. Wu Dianhui to death on February 11, 2006.

Mr. Wu Dianhui and Ms. Zhang Wuying were teachers at the Changzhou City Normal College, which had merged with the Changzhou Institute of Technology in 2003.

In October 1999, Mr. Wu, his wife and another colleague were arrested in Tiananmen Square and taken away in a police van. The police beat Mr. Wu in the van. After being transferred to the Changzhou City Public Security Bureau, they were sent to a brainwashing center.

After they were released, Mr. Wu was assigned to cut trees, clean bathrooms, and pick up garbage, even though he was technically trained. His wife was ordered to do copy and print job, which she was required to do even during her pregnancy and while breast-feeding. In addition, the former President of the Changzhou City Normal College, Li Minmin violated Mr. Wu's contract. He refused to pay a 100,000 yuan housing reimbursement to Mr. Wu.

In February of 2000, without any written document, the school denied the couple's right to work. After that, the pregnant wife's base salary became the couple's only source of income. Various unfair treatments led them to appeal to the Chinese Appeals Bureau. However the appeal was not heard. Instead, the Changzhou Public Security Bureau arrested Mr. Wu. Although Mr. Wu and his wife were not mentally ill, upon his release from the detention center, the two were forcibly taken to the Changzhou Liberation Army's 102 Mental Hospital. His wife was tied to the bed, injected with drugs and force-fed, even though she was over five months pregnant.

In early July 2000, the Changzhou Public Security Bureau detained Mr. Wu because he was walking in a park with several Falun Gong materials in his hand.. He was not released until one month later. The Changzhou Public Security Bureau threatened Mr. Wu and his family and forced their landlord to discontinue renting an apartment to them. Li Minmin ordered security to strictly monitor Mr. Wu and his wife around the clock.

On May 1, 2001, Mr. Wu was on his way back from visiting his former classmates in Shanghai. Li Minmin and staff from the Cuizhu Security Office arrested him and took him to the "strictly-monitored team" of the Fangqiang Forced Labor Farm in Dafeng City, Jiangsu Province. During the detention, the police shocked him with electric batons, which burned his skin. He was forced to do intensive labor during the day and was deprived of sleep at night. He was put into solitary confinement, handcuffed, chained, and beaten by other inmates (instigated by the guards) very frequently, causing him tremendous physical and mental damage.

Changzhou Teachers' School once again received orders from the authorities to strictly monitor Mr. Wu's wife. They do not allow her to contact other Falun Gong practitioners, nor did they allow people outside the school to visit her. One practitioner from outside the school was called to the police station to be interrogated for offering her a meal. School officials scolded another practitioner working in the school for visiting her at the dormitory.

In April 2002, when Wu Rong was one and a half years old, his mother was arrested at her workplace and taken to a brainwashing center at the Haihe Hotel for 40 days. The toddler cried all day and night.

On New Year's Day in 2003, Mr. Wu was released after suffering brutal torture in the forced labor camp. Soon after that, he became seriously ill at home because his body was extremely weak from having been tortured extensively. He never recovered and passed away on February 11, 2006. To block the news, the Changzhou City Public Security Bureau, together with the Shanghai City Police, prohibited Mr. Wu's colleagues from visiting his wife and son in Changzhou.

Wu Rong now studies in Class No. 1 of the first grade at Changzhou Sanjing Elementary School. He lives a difficult life with his mother. Local authorities and her workplace constantly pressure and persecute them.
