Qiao Yongfu, male, 58 years old, is a resident of Zhaogezhuang Village, Wangcun Township, Laishui County, Shandong Province. Mr. Qiao and his wife are both Falun Gong practitioners. After the persecution of Falun Gong started in July 1999, they went to Beijing to appeal to the government to stop the persecution of Falun Gong. They were detained and sent to forced brainwashing. Their son and daughter-in-law, who are also Falun Gong practitioners, were harassed and persecuted and forced to leave their home.

At around 1:30 p.m. on June 23, 2006, five officials from the Laishui County “610 Office” went to Zhaogezhuang Village and arrested Falun Gong practitioner Zhu Xiuling. Then they went to Mr. Qiao’s home. The front gate was locked and nobody was home, so they jumped over the wall. They cut the window screen with a knife, crawled into the house and ransacked it, taking a Falun Gong exercise tape. They came back to Mr. Qiao’s home again around midnight and harassed the family. Afterwards, they kept coming back, sometimes as often as three times a day. Mr. Qiao and his wife were so frightened that they were forced to leave their home to avoid further persecution.

Mr. Qiao exposed his persecution experiences on an overseas website. As a result, around 2 p.m. on December 4, 2006, four officials from Laishui County “610 Office,” went to Mr. Qiao’s home in Zhaogezhuang Village again. There was no one at home, so they threw bricks at the windows and broke into the house.

They destroyed the doors, windows, dishes, furniture, and some home appliances. They removed the blade from a shovel and used the shovel handle to demolish more of the family’s personal items.

They knew that Mr. Qiao had an old house also, so, afterwards, they also went there and ransacked it.
