On April 25, 2002, Police from Dalian City Ganjingzi District's Airport Area Police Station arrested Falun Dafa practitioner Yu Pingzhu at her business, a small convenience store. Her home was ransacked and she is currently being detained at Yaojia Detention Center. For the past 25 years she had been the caregiver for a disabled woman who is now 84 years old.

When Xiao Lifang, the disabled 84-year-old woman who lives with Yu Pingzhu, heard this devastating news, her health began to deteriorate. She anxiously awaits Yu Pingzhu's return home. Yu Pingzhu has cared for her for about 25 years and had treated her like her own mother. Twenty-five years ago, a car accident disabled Xiao Lifang, an elderly unmarried woman. Yu Pingzhu, a fellow villager who at the time was married and pregnant, offered to take Xiao Lifang into her home to care for her daily needs.

In July 1999, Yu Pingzhu was detained for 19 days following her trip to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa. In April 25, 2002, she was arrested for the second time. The persecution has made it impossible for her to lead a normal family life. Her husband has had to shoulder all the responsibilities. In addition to his day job, he has to manage the convenience shop, take care of their youngest son and the elderly lady, not to mention the heavy psychological stress he must suffer.

We appeal to the China Women's Association and other kind-hearted people to help end the terrible situation that Yu Pingzhu's family is experiencing.
