After being persecuted in the Huludao Forced Labor Camp for more than a year, Mr. Hu Shaowei has scabies all over his body, suffers from intolerable pain throughout his body, and is almost blind.

He used to work at the Xinyuan Realty Development Company, which is a joint venture corporation. After he began to practice Falun Gong in 1998, Mr. Hu began to improve himself and become a good person according to the guiding principles in "Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance" taught in Falun Dafa. His family and friends were amazed by his changes including giving up his bad habit of laziness and removing his selfishness by thinking about others first. After the persecution started in July 1999, he went to Beijing to peacefully appeal for justice for Falun Gong. He was arrested and sent back to his home town and detained in a detention center for three months. While in detention, he got scabies and suffered tremendously from the itching. He was transferred to a forced labor camp, but they released him the next day for medical care because of the infectious nature of scabies.

In April 2004, his was forcible taken from his house the by police, all the while the police were ransacking the house. His ailing mother was so frightened by the policemen's actions that she had a stroke during the police raid. The policemen paid no attention to her condition. His wife came home to find his mother and to learn that Shaowei had been arrested.

After a year of detention in Huludao Forced Labor Camp, Shaowei the scabies spread all over his body. Due to the inhumane treatment and torture, his eyes are failing and he is in great pain, especially in his hands and feet. Due to too many varicose veins in his feet he can no longer wear shoes. His family repeatedly asks the forced labor camp to release him on medical grounds, but the camp authorities continue to respond that to do so he would have to renounce his belief. He will not! Therefore, he continues to be held against his will to suffer this inhumane persecution in a forced labor camp.

We call on the righteous people of the world to pay to close attention to this case and to use all means to rescue Falun Gong practitioners being tortured.
