Mr. Liu Ling is a Falun Dafa practitioner from Wuhan City, Hubei Province. Because of the torture he experienced in Hewan Labor camp he is now totally blind and his legs are paralyzed. Here are the details leading to these disabilities.

Even though he was mentally healthy, he was detained and tortured in a mental hospital for several months. This was because Liu Ling refused to give up his Falun Dafa practice. Later, he was transferred to a forced labor camp and illegally detained there for almost a year. During that period of time, Mr. Liu was physically and mentally abused to an extent that one cannot imagine. His captors required him to stand continually for over 10 days. He was also put in isolation in a tiny room for one month. In the winter, they required everyone to stand out in the wind while barefoot and wearing thin clothes.

Force-feeding is another terrible torture method Mr. Liu was subjected to when he was on a hunger strike to protest the inhumane conditions. The brainwashing class included various forms of mental stressors, including long periods with lack of sleep while being mentally and physically abused. This does strange things to your mind. Everyone was being denied the use of the restroom or to bathe for extended lengths of time. Not being able to use the restroom caused chronic constipation and anal hemorrhaging. The labor camp police bragged about embezzling the money that had been allocated to the camp for detainees' living expenses; thereby, making the living conditions and food in labor camp even worse. Mr. Lui suffered from many other forms of physical punishment and torture.

Beatings by the labor camp’s criminal inmates that were instigated by the police caused vertebral dislocation and pressure on the spinal chord. This torture resulted in the loss of sight in both his eyes and the loss of his ability to walk due to paralysis of his legs.

Because of his disabilities he lost his job, the ability to work and make a living. His family has applied for the lowest level of social security for Mr. Lui, but the government departments involved refused to handle his case simply because he practice Falun Dafa.
