Urgent Appeal for the Lives of Fu Yongan and Liu Xianglan

and her nephew Mr. Xu Genli disappeared in Jinggangshan in November 2005. Guided
by some locals, their family members went through the valleys and caves in the
nearby mountains to search for them. They also petitioned the Jinggangshan City
government to help find the two missing people but to no avail. The bodies of
the two practitioners were found at Wuzhi Peak in the Jinggang Mountains in
April and May 2006. It is believed that their organs were harvested and their
bodies were disposed of in the mountains…

Mr. Fu Yongan and his wife Ms. Liu Xianglan began to practice Falun Dafa in September 1995. They participated in the April 25, 1999, appeal for Falun Gong at Zhongnanhai, and they were arrested on July 20, 1999, the day the persecution started. Ever since then, the police have detained them on “sensitive dates.”
On March 19, 2006, more than ten policemen from the Public Security Bureau in Beijing raided their home, confiscated their computer, and arrested them. Sources revealed that the Public Security Bureau found some Falun Gong articles on their computer and 61 Falun Dafa related materials in their home. The police tried to use them as evidence to sentence them to a forced labor camp or jail.
After one week, they were sent to the Beijing Haidian Qinghe Detention Center, Beijing. On March 28, their son received a postcard from his mother requesting two sets of clothing and 200 yuan. She asked him to send them to: East district 2-6#, 25 Longgang Road, Qinghe Town, Haidian District, Beijing. About one month later, their son received another postcard from his father sent from the same place.
Their son went to the Qinghe Detention Center trying to visit them, but the police refused his requests, and also refused to release the latest information about them. Around May 20, 2006, the couple was sentenced to a forced labor camp for two years. Their son got this information from his mother in the form of a postcard, but their son has never received any formal notice. Around July 18, their son received a letter from the re-education personnel at Diaoqianchu in Beijing notifying him that his father, Mr. Fu Yongan, was sent to Tuanhe Forced Labor Camp on July 12 and only the directly-related family members using that letter along with their IDs could visit him. Also, he could not receive any items during the visit and the labor camp would only accept money.
On July 24, their son went to the Beijing Tuanhe Forced Labor Camp for the first visit with his father, Mr. Fu Yongan, since his parents were arrested four months earlier. The police took back the notice letter as their son signed in for the visit. Their son was shocked as soon as he saw his father because he had become very skinny. In their 30 minute conversation, the son learned that the situation in Beijing Qinghe Detention Center was extremely bad. Furthermore, he had not seen his mother for five months.
According to their daughter, Ms. Fu Chen, who lives in Dallas, Texas, U.S.A, her father is being held at the Tuanhe Forced Labor Camp at Daxing District in Beijing, and her mother is in Beijing Woman's Forced Labor Camp, 1st brigade. Here we appeal urgently for the release of this elderly couple.
