Torture Methods:
- Guards forced practitioners to take off all their clothes to search them when they first came to the detention center, as a kind of humiliation;
- The practitioners were forced fed when they went on hunger strike. The plastic tube was inserted into practitioner’s nose all the way to the stomach. High-density salt water was fed through the tube. When the tube was taken out, it was covered with blood. Practitioners were still in great pain after the feeding;
- In winter, practitioners were forced to stay outdoor to suffer from the coldness and some were left outside all night. The guards sometimes even pour cold water from their necks into their clothes;
- In summer, practitioners were forced to stay outdoor all night to suffer from the mosquito bites;
- Guards used the lighted cigarette butts to burn practitioners’ skin;
- Guards poked practitioners’ fingers with needles;
- To prevent practitioners from doing Falun Gong exercise, guards forced practitioners to wear heavy handcuffs and shackles. Practitioners were not able to go to restroom or eat without help.
- Practitioners were handcuffed from the back and hung up;
- Guards used a big plastic big to cover a practitioner’s head thus suffocate him until he was close to lost consciousness. This torture lasted 20 days.
- Guards often beat practitioners, slapped their faces, and shocked them with electric batons.
Victim List:
- Ms. Li Yan, 李岩, 31 years old, is a resident of Beijing City. On August 14, 2005, she was arrested in the Tiantongyuan area of the Changping District in Beijing while she was distributing Falun Dafa materials. She is currently being detained in Changping Detention Center.
- Ms. Zhu Jiaying, 朱家英, 51 years old, was a teacher;
- Ms. Liu Taojiang, 刘涛江, 41 years old, is a resident of Beijing City;
- Ms. Wang Aimin, 王爱民, graduated from Tsinghua University;
- Ms. He Guilan, 何桂兰, 61 years old, is a retiree of 203 Institute of Aviation Department, and lives in Changping District, Beijing.
