Wang Shuying, female, in her 40’s, employee of Nanchang Aircraft Manufacturing Company. Ms. Wang has been detained in the Jiangxi Women’s Labor Camp in Jiangxi Province because she practices Falun Gong. She was sent to the labor camp just after undergoing hysterectomy surgery. While in the labor camp, Ms. Wang developed several illnesses including heart problems, indigestion, and insomnia. She also had difficulty eating and sleeping. Nevertheless, the labor camp doctors refused to give her any treatment.

Liu Yubin, female, in her 60’s, resident of Ji’an City, Jiangxi Province. Ms. Liu was sent to the Jiangxi Women’s Labor Camp because she practiced Falun Gong. Ms. Liu was diagnosed with tuberculosis during the physical examination prior to entering the labor camp. She had a severe cough. Despite her health condition, she was forced to do intensive labor without any medical treatment. Ms. Liu became emaciated and very ill.

Yuan Xianyun, female, in her 50’s, resident of Xinjian County, Jiangxi Province.Ms. Yuan was sent to a forced labor camp because she distributed Falun Gong materials to people. Before she was sent to the labor camp, police beat her until she vomited blood and had vaginal bleeding. In addition, she suffered bladder incontinence, and pain and numbness in the left side of the body. In the labor camp, Ms. Yuan had difficulty taking care of herself. Still the labor camp officials forced her to do hard labor and refused to give her any medical treatment.
