Mr. Liang Tianhua, male, was 63 years old, and held the post of the Huaiji County Commerce Bureau Director. He used to have severe cirrhosis of the liver, but was cured after he began to practice Falun Gong in 1998.

On April 19, 2000, his wife, Ms. Fan Shaoqing, was arrested by officers from the “610 Office,” was sentenced to two years forced labor, and detained in the Sanshui Labor Camp. Mr. Liang Tianhua was very depressed,  and the cirrhosis of his liver turned into cancer. He tried to get treatment in Guangzhou or Shenzhen, but the local “610 Office” order that he should not get treatment if he would not renounce Falun Gong. Until he was in critical condition, the doctors said that it was too late when he was finally allowed treatment. He died in June 2001.

Ms. Fan Shaoqing, was 62 years old, and was a government employee of Huaiji County Industrial and Business Bureau. Her diabetes and high blood pressure were greatly improved after practicing Falun Gong in 1998. On April 19, 2000, officers from the “610 Office “abducted Ms. Fan and had her sentenced to two years of forced labor at Sanshui Labor Camp. Upon returning home, she was traumatized by her husband's death, and her old illnesses came back. She was taken to Shenzhen City Hospital, but the doctor said she had only a couple of days left to live. She died nine days later on December 31, 2004.
