Ms. Liu Yunxiang is a 32-year-old Falun Gong practitioner from Yangjiazhuang Village, Junbukou Township.
Between January 21 and 22 of 2000, the township Secretary of Politics and Law, Hua Guangyong, and the authorities at Junbukou Township of Weifang City in Shandong Province arrested Ms. Liu Yunxiang and other Falun Gong practitioners who refused to renounce the practice. It was freezing outside, but they still forced the practitioners to shovel snow while wearing little clothing. Afterwards, they forced the practitioners to stand in the snow, then beat and kicked them. When the sticks that they used to beat the practitioners broke, they used belts to continue the beatings. They even forced practitioners to hit each other and forced male practitioners to strike the hips of female practitioners.
During the imprisonment, the director of the local Justice Department, Xia Bingtang, forced practitioners to run three times each day for one hour each time. During each run, the practitioners were forced to curse the founder of Falun Gong; those who refused to curse or ran too slowly were beaten with wooden sticks. After running, they were forced to drink alcohol and smoke cigarettes, actions that are against the teaching of Falun Gong. As a result of the torture, Ms. Liu Yunxiang had a miscarriage.
On January 20, 2000, after they fined each practitioner 4,000 to 6,000 Yuan, they released them.
On a summer night in 2001, Gao Zhongde, Dai Qingjun, Xia Bingtang, Liu Zhongjie, Wang Lican, Zhang Lianhai, and hired ruffians Sun Qingyu, Wang Jinzhong, Cao Xiqin, and Wu Jifang arrested a number of Falun Gong practitioners, including Ms. Liu Yunxiang. They took the practitioners to the municipal building to torture them. They kicked, beat, and shocked them with electric batons. The brutal torture caused Ms. Liu to have a second miscarriage.
The authorities released Ms. Liu after twenty days of further torture.type=case, women; type=case, torture; |
