Ms. Liu Ling Was Repeatedly Detained and Recently Sentenced to Forced Labor
Print  E-mail

Ms. Liu Ling, 23 years of age, was a student of the Class of 2000 of the Chemistry Department of Handan Normal Professional College. Since the persecution of Falun Gong started in 1999, she was detained many times.

In early 2001, police Jin Hansheng, Yang Bangchao and Hou Zhenxiang from Yuxinnan Police Station of Hanshan Police Department abducted Liu Ling from her home. Because Liu Ling refused to give up Falun Gong, she was detained in the Handan Second Detention Center for more than five months. She was release on a bail of 5,000 yuan.

During the “16th People’s Congress” in 2002, police from Yuxin Police Station abducted her from her home again. She was sent to the Handan First Detention Center and detained for more than five months. She was released after the perpetrators extorted 2,000 yuan from her family.

Right before October 1, 2004 when Liu Xing went to Yuxinnan General Office to handle a regular business matter, perpetrators from the Yuxinnan General Office and Li Fengming and Yang Wanlin of Yuxinnan Police Station forcefully took her away and sent her to the Handan Second Detention Center. She went on a hunger strike. Prolonged torture caused her health to deteriorate quickly. She sometimes vomited blood, fainted and collapsed. She became very weak, was unable to walk on her own and had difficulty eating and symptoms of diarrhea and acute enteritis.

On August 18, 2005, Yuxinnan Police Station secretly sent her to Shijiazhang Forced Labor Camp for a three year term of forced labor.
