Mr. An Senbiao, in critical condition
Mr. An Senbiao, male, 38, is a former employee of the No.2 Oil Extraction Plant in Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province. Around noon on January 24, 2005, Mr. An went to the Babaishang Police Station in Daqing to explain to them the facts surrounding the persecution of Falun Gong.

Mr. An was met at the station by policeman Gao Yufeng, who along with other officers searched Mr. An upon learning his purpose. They dragged Mr. An into an office, and confiscated all of the Falun Gong materials that he had on his person.

The police handcuffed Mr. An's hands behind his back, forced him into a police vehicle and took him to the Babaishang Police Station. There, they forced him to sit on an iron chair. Gao Yufeng lit a cigarette and held it under Mr. An's nose, while asking him to reveal the source of his Falun Gong materials.

The Suihua Forced Labor Camp
Police officer Liu Yanqing called E Jintai, the Division Party Secretary of Mr. An's work-unit, and ordered that Mr. An’s computer to be searched. Liu Yanqing, E Jintai, and Wang Xizhong, the Team Party Secretary of the No. 7 Production Division of Mr. An’s plant, ransacked Mr. An's home and confiscated all the Falun Gong materials that were there.

At about 10 p.m. the same night, the Babaishang Police Department authorities sent Mr. An to the Longfeng Detention Center in Daqing. At the Center, police bound him with heavy shackles weighing approximately 15kg, and then tethered him to the ground, rendering him unable to take even a single step. Because Mr. An shouted day and night, “Falun Gong is good,” the Police kept kicking at the iron door to his cell repeatedly throughout the night and constantly abused him.

Two days later, at about three in the morning, two prisoners poured cold water down Mr. An’s neck, twice in succession. Mr. An's cotton-padded coat and trousers stayed drenched, and it took several days for them to dry via his own body heat.

After one month of confinement, Mr. An was transferred to the No. 2 Division of the Daqing Forced Labor Camp. There, two prisoners constantly monitored him. On the second day after his arrival, to protest his incarceration, Mr. An started a hunger strike. Thereafter, camp personnel carried him to a special cell, where prisoners were charged with immobilizing and torturing him by force-feeding him three times a day, inserting tubes into his esophagus.

On March 15, after 20 days of force-feeding, the police handcuffed Mr. An using "wolf teeth cuffs," and transferred him along with Daqing practitioners Zhan Yinge and Zhang Bin to the Suihua Forced Labor Camp. The handcuffs cut into his wrists and caused him unbearable pain.

After his arrival at No. 2 Division of the Suihua Forced Labor Camp, Mr. An again started a hunger strike to protest his arrest and persecution. He was again punitively force-fed. When Mr. An refused to wear a prison uniform, he was attacked. 610 Office policeman Shi Jian, along with other prisoners, swarmed Mr. An, punching and kicking him. They kicked him heavily in his abdomen, and smashed him against a wall. Shi Jian used a tailor made needle to prick his feet, which still have scars from this torture.

Every morning when the Camp authorities force-fed Mr. An, they first forcibly put the prison uniform on him, and then dragged him to the infirmary. To prevent Mr. An from pulling out the force-feeding tube, they handcuffed him to a bed and inserted the tube directly into his stomach. At on point, the tube was left in place and not pulled out until he was realeased.

Mr. An suffered numerous brutal tortures at the hands of Shi Jian. On at least three occasions, Shi Jian pierced Mr. An’s chest, nipples, neck, feet and other areas with a needle, for at least 20 minutes at a time. The scars on his feet are still visible. Shi Jian, along with an unidentified Camp prisoner, fed Mr. An with laundry powder, causing Mr. An’s stomach to burn and ache.

A 610 Office policeman surnamed Huang forced Mr. An to eat by shocking him with an electric baton.

Prisoner Li Wenlong, claiming that he was “representing the government,” burned Mr. An's penis with boiling water from a plastic bag. Prisoner Ma Tao cut Mr. An’s neck, leaving scars which are visible to this day. The prisoners also splashed water onto his eyes to prevent him from sleeping, burnt his abdominal area with boiling-hot rice in a plastic bag, forced him to watch videotapes slandering Falun Gong, and persistently badgered him to give up his belief. Anytime he tried to pull the force-feeding tube out of his esophagus, the prisoners punched Mr. An on his chest and head. They also burnt his feet with cigarette lighters.

Over the course of his prolonged stay at the Camp, Mr. An suffered severe kidney trouble, was in a coma for a time, and became severely emaciated. When Mr. An's family asked the authorities for his release, the police turned them away, on the grounds they made trouble and disturbed official affairs.

At 3 p.m. on July 13, 2005, the Suihua Forced Labor Camp authorities released Mr. An. He had lost between 90 and 95 lbs. from an original 184 lbs. He is extremely weak, and has lost much of his muscle mass. Due to his constantly being cuffed, he is not able to bend his arms.

The Suihua Forced Labor Camp is the center of persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in Heilongjiang Province. At times there have been as many as 300 practitioners locked up there.
