Ms. Zhou Shuqing, a 66 year old woman, was a resident of Changchunling Town, Songyuan City, Jilin Province. She had several illnesses before she practiced Falun Gong. After she began practicing, all her illnesses vanished and she enjoyed both physical and mental health.
Since the Chinese government started persecuting Falung Gong, the local police began to make frequent searches of Ms. Zhou’s home while threatening , harassing her and also extorting money from her. Under these circumstances she was unable to practice the Falun Gong exercises as usual. Consequently, her health deteriorated, returning to its past state. Despite this, the police continued harassing her and extorting money from her. They claimed that they no longer had funding to arrest Falun Gong practitioners and forced her to give them money, or else be subject to detention. Faced with such persistent threats and severe tension, she could no longer endure. Her illnesses recurred and she died on February 6, 2005. type=case, death;type=case, women;location=Jilin ,Songyuan |
