Wang Yunman, female, 46, is a former employee of the Shijiazhuang Plastics Factory. Since July 1999, she has been to Beijing four times to appeal to the government to stop the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. Ms. Wang has been detained eleven times, and was badly tortured each time she was detained. She went on hunger strike 6 times to protest the inhuman treatment she received. In the summer of 2001, she was arrested when she was clarifying the truth about Falun Gong to people. After her arrest, she was detained in the Shijiazhuang City No. 2 Detention Center. Since January 2002, Ms. Wang has been on a hunger strike. She has become extremely weak and skinny. So that they could avoid any responsibility for her critical health condition, the detention center claimed that she had been released. However, Ms. Wang’s family has no information about her, and no one has seen her again either in the detention center or anywhere else. Ms. Wang’s whereabouts are unknown.
