Ms. Wang Xingmin, female, is a resident of Ningjin County, Hebei Province. She was sent to the Shijiazhuang Labor Camp in June 2001 because she practices Falun Gong. Upon her arrival, she was forced to attend brainwashing sessions. Then, she was deprived of sleep for several days. She was also monitored by two inmates every day and prohibited to speak with anyone.

One morning in November, Ms. Wang was taken into an office, where several officials took turns beating her. They kicked her body and slapped her until her face was swollen. After she was taken back to her cell, several inmates continued to attack her. She was constantly kept under a lot of pressure. Two nights later, she was taken to an office again for further persecution. She came back at midnight with black and blue marks from electric batons all over her body. Inmates again took turns attacking her. Then Ms. Wang started to show abnormal behavior, sometimes crying and sometimes smiling. Even after this, the group leader and the inmates still continued to beat her and torture her. Once she was handcuffed to a jail heater for many days. Each night, people could hear her crying and the noise from her handcuffs clanging against the heater. Ms. Wang was tortured until she suffered a mental collapse.
