Wang Huaiying Died while Hung
from a Window at the Detention

Wang Huaiying, male, 58, a retired worker of the
Heze Instruments Factory, resident of Wangtang Village,
Mudan District, Heze City, Shandong Province
On January 26, 2001, Mr. Wang Huaiying went
to Beijing to appeal to the central government to stop
persecuting Falun Gong. He was arrested and detained
at the Yongan Road Detention Center in Nanyang
City. There Officer Zhang Changyu instigated
prisoners to beat Mr. Wang.

On February 1, 2001, around 8 a.m., prisoner
Zhang Tiangui hung Mr. Wang on the door and reinforcing
bars of a window with handcuffs and a belt.
They hung one of his hands high in the air and only
let his feet slightly touch the ground. His other hand
was pulled to the other side and hung up. Mr. Wang
was left hanging like this until he died around 1 p.m.
The police secretly sent the body to be cremated. The
police forced Mr. Wang's family to pay 4,000 Yuan for
the cremation and autopsy. According
to the autopsy pictures, Mr.
Wang's body was covered with
bruises.
