On February 1, 2001, around 8 a.m., prisoner Zhang Tiangui hung Mr. Wang on the door and reinforcing bars of a window with handcuffs and a belt. They hung one of his hands high in the air and only let his feet slightly touch the ground. His other hand was pulled to the other side and hung up. Mr. Wang was left hanging like this until he died around 1 p.m. The police secretly sent the body to be cremated. The police forced Mr. Wang's family to pay 4,000 Yuan for the cremation and autopsy. According to the autopsy pictures, Mr. Wang's body was covered with bruises.
