Ms. Fu Jinmei, female, 54, resident of Anning District, Lanzhou City, Gansu Province.

Ms. Fu started practicing Falun Gong in 1996. In February 2000, shortly after the government banned the practice, she went to Beijing to appeal to the government for the right to practice Falun Gong. She was arrested in Beijing and escorted back to her hometown. She was detained for fifteen days, and they extorted 6,000 Yuan from her. After that she was arbitrarily detained and tortured many times because she would not stop practicing Falun Gong.
