Description:

In June 2000, Ms. Sun Shujie went to Beijing to appeal to the government to stop persecuting Falun Gong. She was arrested and escorted back to her company’s detention center where she was brutally beaten by policemen Liu Wencheng and Wan Xiaoyong. As a result, her leg muscles turned black-purple. Later, she was sentenced to one year of forced labor.

On September 2, 2001, Ms. Sun went to Beijing to re-appeal. She was again arrested and escorted back to her company’s detention center. There she was locked up in a small cell for five days. The superintendent forced practitioners to do heavy labor work. During a mid-night in October 2001, Ms. Sun started hemorrhaging because of the hard labor. Later, she fainted many times. After her release on December 26, 2001, four policemen broke into Ms. Sun’s home and forcefully took her and all of the Falun Gong books away. Despite her weak physical condition, the police dragged her down the stairs by the feet and threw her into the police van. She was then detained in the Shuangyashan City Detention Center. During her detention, Ms. Sun went on a hunger strike to protest the detention and fainted a few times. The police also extorted over 20,000 Yuan [1] from her.
